Six Reasons to Use Modules In Your Canvas Course

Keeping your content organized while teaching can seem overwhelming, and organizing online content in a blended course is nearly impossible, but with a little planning and a few minutes of preparation you can make life easier for yourself and your students.  Organizing your course materials can be done in a variety of ways: by date, units, topics, or even objectives.

You may think that having a messy desk means you're creative... but what do your students think if you have a messy online course?
Like seeing Darth Vader in a Hello Kitty Costume. Very confused.

The Modules functionality in Canvas allows you to:

  1. Block and chunk your content into sections that can be completed sequentially.
  2. Quickly create new pages, assignments, discussions, quizzes, and other resources with a couple clicks.
  3. Quickly add previously created content into modules.
  4. Easily import content by module from other courses. Easily export content by modules to Canvas Commons.
  5. Rearrange content and materials with simple drag and drop interface.
  6. Control the pace of student progress by scheduling publishing dates.
